A very dear friend makes these all the time...wonderful!! Ingredients:
1/2 cup crisco |
1 cup sugar |
2 large eggs |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup brown sugar, packed |
2 egg whites, beaten stiff |
3/4 cup chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. Cream Crisco and sugar and add eggs, well beaten. Add salt and vanilla - sift baking powder with flour and mix well. 2. Spread in long shallow pan and cover with second layer.and bake in 350°. Cut into squares when cool. 3. Bake till browned. 4. Be sure to note the size of pan and baking times to correct before posting. |
