Ingredients:
1/2 cup(s) shortening |
1 and 1/2 cup(s) sugar |
2 eggs |
1 tablespoon(s) cocoa |
2 ounce(s) red food coloring |
1 cup(s) buttermilk |
1 and 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda |
1 teaspoon(s) salt |
1 tablespoon(s) vinegar |
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla |
2 and 1/2 cup(s) plain flour |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Make a paste with cocoa and coloring. Add to first mixture. Add salt to flour. Add alternately with milk and flavoring and mix well. Add soda to vinegar and fold in. Do not heat. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees in three separate layer cake pans.
