These are christmas cookies at my house! My mom has been making these for years. The cornstarch gives it a very tender texture. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1/3 cup powdered sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1 cup flour |
3/4 cup cornstarch |
1 cup powdered sugar |
2 tablespoons melted butter |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 tablespoons milk |
Directions:
1. Cream butter, powdered sugar and vanilla. 2. Sift flour and cornstarch. 3. Add to creamed ingredients. 4. Roll into small balls and flatten with a wetted glass to prevent the dough from sticking. 5. Bake at 350° for 12-14 minutes. 6. Meanwhile, cream sugar, butter and vanilla for frosting. 7. Add milk until thin enough to spread. 8. Divide frosting into 2 bowls and color 1 bowl with red frosting and 1 bowl with green frosting. |
