These are so cute! The kids will adore these little treats! I made these for the kids in my class and also for my grand kids to take to their class parties. They were such a hit! Ingredients:
1 package oreo cookies (i use the ones with mint in the middle) |
1 package of semi sweet chocolate chips |
2 packages of white chocolate chips |
6 teaspoons of shortening |
pencil pretzels |
bugles |
shredded coconut |
yellow food coloring |
Directions:
1. Melt semi sweet chocolate with 3 teaspoons of shortening in a pot while stirring over low heat until melted. 2. Melt white chocolate chips with the other 3 teaspoons of shortening in another pot over low heat, stirring well until melted. 3. Place sheets of foil on flat surface. 4. Spoon out a little of the white chocolate (about a large tablespoon) to form base. 5. Spoon a dab of the melted semi chocolate on top of white chocolate puddle. 6. Dip a bugle (I make sure I use the ones that are have a nice opening at the bottom of the bugle)into semi sweet melted chocolate. 7. Place chocolate bugle on top of chocolate dab(you may need to hold it for a couple seconds to help it stand up) 8. In a plastic baggie, place 1 1/3 cups coconut and 6 drops of yellow food coloring in side, close and shake until coconut is colored a nice yellow. 9. Lay a pretzel stick on white puddle, place a small amount of the coconut on top of one end of the pretzel to form the broom. 10. Let sit until completely dried(about 15 minutes) 11. I made a little poem to go with these which you can use if you like or make up your own little saying. 12. POEM: 13. A chocolate witch went flying one Halloween night 14. Looking to give kids a chocolaty fright! 15. But good boys and girls would have none of that 16. So, they melted the witch, her broom, and her hat! |
