Just what the heading states melt in your mouth, use only butter for this Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed |
1/2 cup butter (no substitutions) |
1/2 cup shortening (crisco is good) |
1 large egg, well beaten |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut |
1/2 cup nuts, chopped |
1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips (optional) |
Directions:
1. Set oven to 325°F. 2. In a medium bowl; sift together flour, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar. 3. In another bowl, cream the butter, shortening, vanilla, and brown sugar; add beaten egg. 4. Add the sifted dry ingredients to the creamed mixture; mix well. 5. Add the coconut, nuts and chocolate chips (if using); stir well. 6. Drop the cookie dough onto a greased cookie sheet; press flat with a fork dipped in cream. 7. Bake 15-20 minutes. |
