This is a wonderful side dish that has graced our table for years. Ingredients:
2 lbs carrots, sliced 1/4-inch thick |
3 stalks celery & leaves, finely diced |
1 small onion, finely minced |
1/3 cup sugar |
2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine |
3/4 cup dry vermouth |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a saucepan and cook over low heat for about 20 to 25 minutes or just barely tender. |
