This is a wonderful fragrant recipe of basmati rice and lentils.
Ingredients:
3 -4 large onions
1 cup basmati rice
3 cups chicken broth
1 (19 ounce) can green lentils
1/8 cup olive oil
3/4 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cumin
Directions:
1. Slice onions and add to skillet along with olive oil. Caramelize Onions. Remove 3/4 of your onions and continue to cook remaining onions until they start to get black and crispy. Remove remainder of onions and add rice to skillet. Cook rice for 3 minutes or until it is mostly translucent.
2. Return onions to skillet along with the remaining ingredients. Simmer on low-medium heat for 20 mins or until rice is tender and the broth is absorbed.
