From Ways to Prepare Meat. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs round steaks |
2 tablespoons olive oil |
3 onions, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, crushed |
1 1/2 cups chopped skinned tomatoes |
1 tablespoon tomato paste |
1 bay leaf, crushed |
3 whole cloves |
1 cup red wine |
1 teaspoon brown sugar |
1 teaspoon basil |
1 teaspoon salt |
black pepper |
1 lb boiled spaghetti |
parmesan cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Cut the beef into 1 inch cubes and brown in hot oil on all sides. Lift out and set aside. 2. Saute the onions and garlic in the pan until soft, add tomatoes, tomato paste, wine, bay lead, cloves, sugar, saly and pepper, return the beef to the pan and cover. 3. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. 4. Serve with the boiled spaghetti and sprinkle with grated cheese. |
