This is a dip I first had in the Middle East back in the 80s. Yeah I'm that old :-). I recreated it at home and have enjoyed it ever since. Ingredients:
1/2 lb. ground beef |
1 tbs. cumin |
1 tsp. garlic powder |
1 pint hummus ( i get plain hummus but you can use garlic or make your own) |
pignoli to garnish |
1/4 chopped sweet onion |
olive oil |
pita bread |
Directions:
1. Fry ground beef 2. Add spices 3. Put hummus in bowl with a hole in the center 4. Put beef mixture into center of hummus 5. garnish with onions and pignoli 6. Drizzle olive oil over top 7. Serve with pita bread |
