This recipe came from . Using the pre-made dough makes these much quicker, and they are so yummy. I frequently customize the ingredients, but am posting the original recipe. Ingredients:
3/4 lb ground beef |
1 cup marinara sauce or 1 cup pizza sauce |
1 tablespoon italian seasoning |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1 package prepared pizza crust |
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese |
1 egg, beaten |
1 tablespoon water |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400. 2. Spray baking sheet with non-stick spray. 3. Brown the meat, drain and transfer to mixing bowl. 4. Add marinara and Italian seasoning; mix together well. 5. Add salt and pepper. 6. Make 4 circles from the dough, approx. 7. 8 inches in diameter. 8. Place circles on baking sheet and spoon 1/4 of the meat mixture onto each circle, being careful not to place too close to the edge (it won't seal and your fillings will leak out). 9. Top each circle with 1/4 of the cheese. 10. Fold over one edge and press down to seal, using your finger or an oiled wooden spoon handle. 11. Brush top of calzone with a mixture of beaten egg and water. 12. Bake for 15 minutes, or until crust is golden. |
