I got sick of the traditional meatloaf recipe, so I decided to play with it a little bit. Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef |
1 lb ground turkey |
2 eggs |
1/3 cup milk |
1 cup old fashioned oats |
1/2 cup italian seasoned breadcrumbs |
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese |
1 medium vidalia onion, chopped fine |
3 -5 garlic cloves, diced |
4 tablespoons ketchup |
1 tablespoon onion powder |
1 tablespoon garlic powder |
salt, to taste |
pepper, to taste |
1 cup ketchup |
4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Combine all meatloaf ingredients. 3. Shape into a meatloaf, or press into a cake pan (this is usually easier and cleaner). 4. Mix ketchup and brown sugar for sauce. Then slowly stir in vinegar to taste. 5. Spread sauce over meatloaf. 6. Bake for one to one and a half hours. |
