This is a great recipe. It makes an incredible and impressive appetizer or they can be eaten as a main course over pasta or rice. Another tried and true recipe that I make and am always asked for the recipe. Ingredients:
2 pounds hamburger |
1 envelope onion soup mix |
1 cup bread crumbs |
3 eggs beaten |
12 ounce bottle chili sauce |
1-1/2 cups water |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
16 ounces sauerkraut drained |
16 ounce can whole cranberry sauce |
Directions:
1. In a bowl combine hamburger, soup mix, crumbs and egg. 2. Mix well and shape into balls. 3. Place in baking dish. 4. In a saucepan combine chili sauce, brown sugar, water, sauerkraut and cranberry sauce. 5. Mix well while cooking over a low heat until it begins to boil. 6. Pour over meatballs and cook at 325 for 2 hours. |
