I grew up in Montana, and have always been a meat and potatoes kind of guy. I now live in Minnesota and manage a well known meat shop, and feel this is a great recipe comprised of my own ideas, along with many of my customers favorite ingredients. More flavor than I have ever experienced in a meatloaf. Ingredients:
1/2 lb ground pork |
1/2 lb lean ground beef, not less than 85 |
1 lb ground fresh maple sausage, fresh maple links chopped or ground in a food processor in a pinch |
2 eggs |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
3/4 cup whole milk or 3/4 cup half-and-half cream, will work |
1 (1 1/4 ounce) package lipton onion soup mix |
3/4 cup crushed saltine crackers |
2/3 cup grated parmesan cheese |
3/4 cup ketchup |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in large bowl except for ketchup and brown sugar. Mix well. Place in a loaf baking pan, form into the shape of a loaf. Mix ketchup and brown sugar together. Once mixed well, spread over top of meatloaf. Cover, and bake 350F for 1 hour, to 1 hour 15 minute. |
