                    When I was growing up, a hot dog wasn't a hot dog without meat sauce, mustard, and onions (and fries and gravy). I got this version off the internet and it's very close to the meat sauce I remember. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                1/2 lb ground beef  |  
                                                1/4 cup water  |  
                                                1/4 cup chopped onion  |  
                                                1 garlic clove, minced  |  
                                                1 (8 ounce) can seasoned tomato sauce  |  
                                                1/2-3/4 teaspoon chili powder  |  
                                                1/2 teaspoon salt  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Brown beef slowly but thoroughly, breaking with a fork until fine. 2. Add remaining ingredients; simmer uncovered 10 minutes. Makes sauce for about 12 coney dogs.                              |
