A good sauce that can be made with or without the hamburger. Try it with pasta and cumin for a chili-like flavor. It is easy to double this recipe and freeze the leftover for an easy meal for the future. Ingredients:
1/2 cup onions |
salt* (to brown hamburger in place of oil) |
1 lb hamburger |
2 cloves garlic |
2 16 oz can tomato |
2 8oz cans of tomato sauce |
1 can tomato paste |
1/4 cup parsley flakes |
1 1/2 tsp. oregano |
1 tsp. salt |
pinch sugar |
1//4 tsp thyme |
1 bay leaf |
Directions:
1. Cook hamburger until brown, drian. Return to pan. 2. Add remaining ingredients. 3. Bring to boil, reduce to simmer. 4. Simmer uncoverd for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. |
