Ingredients:
1 egg, large or extra large |
2 teaspoon(s) garlic - minced |
1 cup(s) italian blend cheese |
2 tablespoon(s) italian seasoning |
1 large onion - thinly sliced , separated into rings |
2 pound(s) lean ground beef (or turkey) |
1 cup(s) panko breadcrumbs |
1 jar(s) pasta sauce |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 375. Arrange onion rings on a large rimmed baking sheet to form a "bed" for the meat loaf (or use a 9 x 13-inch baking dish) 2. Whisk egg with 1/2 C pasta sauce in a large mixing bowl. Add ground meat, breadcrumbs, cheese, seasoning and garlic; mix by hand or with 2 forks. Shape mixture into two loaves. Place loaves over onion rings, spaced apart, to allow air to circulate between loaves for even roasting. 3. Bake 30 minutes, the top each laof with 1/2 cup pasta sauce and roast 15 minutes longer or unti internal temp of beef reaches 165 in the center. 4. Cover loosely with foil; let stand 10 min. Slice; serve with remaining sauce. |
