This was my Mother's recipe and I know my children will make it for many years. It is my son's birthday cake every year. I once had a third grade teacher that there is no such thing as a Mayonnaise Cake. Boy she was wrong. This is one of the most moist chocolate cakes you will ever find. I Hope you enjoy. Ingredients:
1 cup mayonnaise (not miracle whip) |
1 cup cold water |
1 cup sugar |
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
4 tablespoons cocoa |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients well and pour into 2 prepared cake pans. Bake at 350 for 35 minutes.
2. Our favorite frosting for this cake is a 7 Minute frosting.
