My hubby always talks about his mom's mayo cake. I've never had such a cake before, in fact the only place I think about putting my mayo is on sammies and salads. Got this recipe from . If you have other better than this one, please let me know!! Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
1/2 cup cocoa |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup sugar |
3/4 cup mayonnaise |
1 cup water |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Sift together the flour, cocoa, soda and salt. 2. Cream together the sugar, mayonnaise, water and vanilla. 3. Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture; stir until well blended. 4. Pour batter into greased and floured layer cake pans (or a 9- x 13-inch pan). 5. Bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes. |
