Mashed potatoes the way Mom made 'em. Ingredients:
4 lbs peeled potatoes |
2 tsp bay leaves |
2 tsp salt |
1 tbsp pepper |
1/2 cup turkey broth |
1 tbsp chicken bouillon |
2 tbsp country crock |
Directions:
1. Peel potatoes, rinse and put in stainless steel pot. 2. Add salt, fill with enough water to cover potatoes. 3. Bring to a boil, simmer for 30 minutes or until potatoes are tender. 4. Do not overcook. 5. Drain water. 6. Add pepper, turkey broth, chicken bouillon and Country Crock. 7. Using a hand-held mixer, whip the potatoes until well mixed. 8. DO NOT OVERBEAT! Over-whipped potatoes go through a chemical change ending up sticky and starchy and quite unappetizing... 9. Cover. 10. Serve with gravy. |
