This is a good travel snack or just to have on hand. Great mix of sweet and salty. Ingredients:
1 quart popped popcorn |
2/3 cup pecans |
1/3 cup almonds |
2 tablespoons butter, melted |
2/3 cup sugar |
1/2 cup butter |
1/4 cup white corn syrup |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
salt |
Directions:
1. Combine popped corn and nuts; toss lightly with butter and salt. 2. Spread on flat pan. 3. Combine sugar, 1/2 cup butter and corn syrup in saucepan. 4. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. 5. Boil and stir occasionally until mixture turns light caramel color. 6. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla. 7. Pour over popcorn mixture and stir to coat evenly. Spread out. 8. When cool, break apart and store in tightly covered container. |
