Maryland Pan-Fried Oysters

Ingredients:
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon salt
dash of pepper
1 1/2 cups fine, dry breadcrumbs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 (12-ounce) containers select oysters, drained
vegetable oil
Directions:
1. Combine eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a small mixing bowl. Combine breadcrumbs and flour in a medium mixing bowl. Dredge oysters in breadcrumb mixture; dip in egg mixture, and roll in breadcrumb mixture.
2. Fry in 1/2 inch hot oil for 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain well on paper towels. Serve immediately with cocktail sauce, if desired.
