This is a gingerbread recipe that was taken from a WW II cookbook. You may serve it warm w/butter, applesauce or whipped cream. Ingredients:
2 beaten eggs |
3/4 c. brown sugar |
3/4 c. molasses |
3/4 c. melted butter |
2 1/2 t. soda |
2 1/2 c. flour |
2 t. ginger |
1 1/2 t. cinnamon |
1/2 t. cloves |
1 c. boiling water |
1/2 t. nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Add beaten eggs to sugar, molasses and melted butter. Add flour and other dry ingredients. Add hot water last. Bake in a greased, shallow pan or cupcake pans. Bake 40 minutes at ~350. |
