These are so good hot from the oven with butter slathered on them! My family likes them with chili! Ingredients:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne powder, or more to taste |
3/4 cup (3 ounces) grated sharp cheddar cheese |
1 egg |
1 cup milk |
1/4 cup butter, melted |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Grease two 6-cup or one 12-cup muffin pans. 3. Combine flour, baking powder, salt and cayenne in a large bowl; add cheese, and mix well. 4. Make a well in center of mixture. 5. In another bowl, combine egg, milk, and butter; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. 6. Spoon into greased muffin pans, filling two-thirds full. 7. Bake for 25 minutes. |
