This candy is always made for Christmas at our house. They taste a bit like Almond Joy candy bars. They are very yummy. I really don't have any idea how many this recipe makes, but I know it is a lot. These make great gifts placed in a Holiday tin. Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened |
8 ounces sweetened condensed milk |
2 lbs confectioners' sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 cups pecans, finely chopped |
1 (24 ounce) package sweetened flaked coconut |
2 (24 ounce) packages semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except chocolate chips. 2. Refrigerate over night. 3. Shape coconut mixture into walnut-size balls. 4. Freeze until firm. 5. Melt chocolate chips in a double boiler. 6. Pierce balls with a tooth pick or wooden skewer, dip balls into chocolate. 7. Lay on wax paper. 8. Refrigerate until set. 9. Store in an airtight container. 10. Note: This recipe originally called for 1 block of paraffin wax melted in with the chocolate chips. I don't care for the wax, so I don't add it. It's just a personal preference. |
