This recipe was given to me by a southern woman who used to come into the office. Different and delicious Ingredients:
5 med. beets or 2 ilb. cans of sliced or shoe string beets,drained |
2tbs butter |
2tbs flour |
2tbs. vinegar |
1tbs sugar |
1/8tsp salt |
1/4tsp dillweed,fresh and chopped |
1/8tsp pepper |
1/2c sour cream |
3tbs light cream or half and half |
Directions:
1. Melt butter,add flour to make a roux,add vinegar and next 4 ingredients,bring to boil,add beets and heat. 2. Add cream and sour cream to mixture,heat gently and pour over beets. 3. Serve hot |
