The Classic Wedge is back. This simple salad is one of my favorites. Served in upscale restaurants, you can make this beauty at home. This timeless dish is easy and delicious. I love Blue Cheese dressing on mine and Thousand Island is my close second. Read more . Add additional toppings like grilled steak, chicken, croutons if you like! Ingredients:
1 head iceberg lettuce |
1 cup diced tomato (seeded) |
1 cup sliced red onions (very thin) |
6 slices of cooked bacon, chopped. |
1 cup blue cheese, crumbled. (more if you like) |
fresh pepper |
dressing |
blue cheese,green goddess (see my recipes) , thousand island or |
your favorite dressing |
chilled plates |
Directions:
1. Slice a head of iceberg lettuce into quarters through the 2. stem end. Cut the stem off of the wedges and arrange each one 3. on a chilled plate. 4. Spoon dressing over the lettuce. (generous) 5. Place the onion slices and blue cheese atop the wedges. 6. Sprinkle with the bacon and tomato among the plates. 7. Garnish with fresh pepper. |
