Marinated Tomatoes

Since I started serving tomatoes this way, nobody at my house will eat them plain!
Ingredients:
4 large tomatoes or 6 medium, sliced thick
balsamic vinegar of your choice (regular, white, golden, etc.)
minced garlic from a jar, with juice.
garlic pepper
salt
fresh or dried basil
Directions:
1. arrange tomato slices on a plate with no overlaps
2. sprinkle (I use a spray bottle!) with balsamic vinegar until each slice is covered (don't overdo it, but cover the surface)
3. sprinkle with garlic pepper, and SMALL amt. of salt
4. turn slices over, repeat the vinegar application
5. layer approximately 1/2 tsp. of garlic and juice for each slice.and fresh basil ribbons, or dried basil, crumbled. You can adjust the amounts to your own taste, of course.
6. cover plate and refrigerate at least an hour.
7. Serve with whatever and prepare to lick your lips!
