Great Sauce to use for pizza and pasta. can be stored frozen up to 1 month for later use. Ingredients:
5 tomatoes, large, red, peeled and pureed |
2 tablespoons tomato paste |
2 tablespoons cooking oil (canola or sunflower) |
1 medium onion, diced |
5 garlic cloves, minced |
2 tablespoons pesto sauce |
1 teaspoon oregano |
1 dash black pepper, ground |
1 dash salt |
2 teaspoons paprika |
3 teaspoons parmesan cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Stir-Fry onions and garlic in vegetable oil until translucent. 2. Add pesto sauce and continue stirring until it sizzles and becomes aromatic. 3. Add in the pureed tomato and the rest of the seasonings (oregano, pepper, salt, paprika). 4. Bring to a boil then leave to simmer about 5 minutes. 5. After reaching the desired consistency, stir in the cheese until it is completely dissolved. 6. Use directly, store in fridge for 3 days, or store frozen for up to 1 month. |
