Marinan's Garlic Cheese Grits |

From the Kitchen Keepsakes cookbook. I have broken the directions down into simple, timed, step-by-step instructions because my kids are going to want this one! ;) Ingredients:
6 cups boiling water |
1 1/2 cups grits |
12 tablespoons butter (1 1/2 sticks) |
1 1/2 cups grated american cheese |
3 eggs, beaten |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1/4 teaspoon tabasco sauce, recipe says 4-6 shakes (optional) |
1/4 teaspoon garlic, minced |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325ยบ. 2. Butter a large casserole dish. 3. Beat the eggs in a small bowl. 4. Put water in a pan and place on high heat on the stove. 5. Grate the American cheese. 6. Add grits to the boiling water. 7. Reduce heat; simmer 5 minutes, stirring constantly. 8. Combine with other ingredients and mix well; pour in the casserole dish. 9. Bake uncovered for 1 hour and 15 minutes. |
