This is my sister-in-laws famous Chicken Curry. She learned making this when she was married to her husband who is from India. She said to say this is the northern version vs the southern version. Unfortunetly I can not attest to this recipe, made it but that's as far I will go. Read more . Do not like curry. However, my husband said it tasted just like Marilyns. Ingredients:

ginger (fresh) chopped fine |
tumeric 1 tsp |
cumin 1/2 tsp |
curry 2 tbsp (or more to taste) |
cilantro or coriander 1 tbsp |
garlic 3 cloves chopped |
salt |
4 tbsp butter |
1-2 onions chopped |
6 boneless chicken breasts |
3 thighs |
3 drumsticks |
chicken broth or water |
1 can chopped or diced tomatoes and juice |
1/2-3/4 cup sour cream |
Directions:
1. Melt 4 tbsp butter in stock pot 2. Add all the spices and saute 2 minutes 3. Add onions and toss to cover 4. For more moisture add a little olive oil 5. Add chicken and brown (about 7 minutes) 6. Add water or chicken broth to cover 7. Add 1 can chopped tomatoes and juice 8. Bring to boil 9. Season more to taste 10. Simmer for 2-3 hours covered 11. Before serving addd 1/2-3/4 cup sour cream and incorporate well |
