A co-worker shared this delicious apple cake recipe with me many years ago. It is very quick to prepare and just right for the autumn season! Ingredients:
3/4 cup sugar, divided |
1 egg |
1 stick butter, melted |
3/4 cup flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
2 apples, peeled and sliced |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325. Spray non-stick spray into a 9 inch round cake pan. 2. Peel and slice apples. Toss slices with 1/4 cup sugar and the 1 teaspoon cinnamon. 3. In a separate bowl, mix flour and baking powder. Set aside 4. In a large bowl, mix remaining 1/2 cup sugar and egg. Add melted butter, vaniilla and flour mix. 5. Stir until well blended. 6. Pour 1/2 of the cake batter into the prepared pan. 7. Arrange apples in a circular pattern on top of batter in pan. 8. Pour remaining batter on top of apples. 9. Sprinkle with a bit of cinnamon. 10. Bake at 325 for 40-45 minutes. |
