This makes a very chewy cookie Ingredients:
3/4 cup margarine |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1/4 cup corn syrup (karo) |
1/4 cup molasses |
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ginger |
Directions:
1. Cream butter and sugar. 2. Add egg, syrup and molasses. 3. Mix in sifted dry ingredients. 4. Cool dough overnight or at least 4 hours. 5. (If you are in a hurry I have put the dough in freezer for 1/2 hour or so.) Roll small balls (small tbls) and roll in sugar. 6. Place on greased cookie sheet. 7. Bake 350 degrees 10-12 minutes. 8. Don't overbake. 9. Note from Mariane: I sometimes even use almost 1/3 c each of the syrup and molasses. 10. Makes them chewier. |
