A modified version of Kittencal's honey garlic chicken skewers where I got the idea for the maple garlic version. Enjoy. Ingredients:
12 (10 inch) wooden skewers, water-soaked |
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips |
3 tablespoons garlic |
6 -8 tablespoons maple syrup |
1/2 cup ketchup |
1/2 cup worcestershire sauce |
4 teaspoons dijon mustard |
garlic |
salt and pepper |
4 pats butter |
Directions:
1. For the marinade, combine garlic, maple syrup, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, salt and pepper. 2. Coat the chicken strips in the marinade to coat well. 3. Place in a tupperware large enough to hold the skewers or a glass baking dish. 4. Cover and marinate overnight (I left it in for 2 days and it was well worth it). 5. Thread the chicken strips on the water-soaked wooden skewers. 6. Preheat the broiler to high heat. 7. Arrange the skewers on a butter greased foil-lined baking sheet. 8. Top each with a pat of butter. 9. Broil for about 6 to 7 minutes (turning occasionally) until well browned and thoroughly cooked. |
