These maple waffles are fabulous with sliced bananas and warmed up maple syrup especially if it is a cold winter day. You will need a waffle maker for this recipe. Ingredients:
1 egg, room temperature and separated |
1 1/4 cups flour |
1 tsp baking powder |
1/8 tsp salt |
3/4 cup milk |
2 t maple syrup |
3 t butter or margarine, melted and cooled |
1 banana, sliced |
Directions:
1. Beat the egg white in a small bowl until stiff and set aside. 2. Mix together the dry ingredients and set aside. 3. Combine egg yoik, milk, maple syrup and melted butter or margarine. 4. Add to dry ingredients until just blended. 5. Do not overbeat the batter or the waffles won't be as fluffy. 6. Follow the directions for making waffles with your waffle maker. |
