These are what I like to call old school caramels! From back in the day! :-) Ingredients:
1/4 cup granulated sugar |
3/4 cup maple sugar |
1/4 cup light brown sugar |
1/4 cup light corn syrup |
1/2 cup heavy cream |
1/8 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon butter |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. In a medium sized pan, combine all the sugars, corn syrup and cream until sugar dissolves. 2. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until candy thermometer reads 250 degrees F. 3. Remove pan from heat and stir in the salt, butter and nuts. 4. Pour mixture into a buttered pan and let cool. 5. Cut into squares. |
