My five children love maple and brown sugar oatmeal, so I decided to add those ingredients to my oatmeal cookies. The first time I made them, they vanished in just a few days! Karen Nienaber, Erskine, Minnesota Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened |
1 cup packed brown sugar |
1/2 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
1 teaspoon maple flavoring |
1-1/2 cups king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
3 cups quick-cooking oats |
1 cup raisins |
Directions:
1. In a bowl, cream the butter and sugars. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in maple flavoring. Combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in oats and raisins. 2. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield: 6 dozen. |
