Pumpkin pie with a subtle twist Ingredients:
1 9-inch graham cracker pie crust |
2 large eggs |
3/4 cup heavy cream |
6 tablespoons pure maple syrup |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 1/2 cups pumpkin puree |
6 tablespoons dark brown sugar, packed |
3 1/2 teaspoons all purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground ginger |
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, syrup and vanilla. Set aside. 3. In another medium bowl, whisk pumpkin puree, sugar, flour, salt and spices; add to egg mixture and whisk until well blended. 4. Pour filling into crust. 5. Bake for 1 hour, or until filling is puffed around edges and center moves only slightly when pan is shaken. 6. Let cool, then place in fridge to chill overnight. |
