Ingredients:
vegetable cooking spray |
1/2 cup finely chopped onion |
2 cloves garlic, minced |
1 tablespoon cornstarch |
1/2 cup plus 1 tablespoon maple syrup |
1/2 cup water |
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce |
1/4 cup molasses |
3 tablespoons cider vinegar |
1 teaspoon dried crushed red pepper |
1 teaspoon peeled, minced gingerroot |
1/4 cup creamy reduced-fat peanut butter |
Directions:
1. Coat a medium saucepan with cooking spray; place over medium heat until hot. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring constantly, 3 minutes or until tender. 2. Combine cornstarch and next 7 ingredients; stir well. Add to onion mixture; bring to a boil. Cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently. Add peanut butter; cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes or until peanut butter melts. Use to baste while cooking and/or to serve with chicken or pork. |
