I came up with this recipe after trying the Jack Daniels Tennessee Honey. I thought it would make a nice sauce. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups ketchup |
1 cup pure maple syrup |
1/2 cup jack daniels tennessee honey whiskey |
1/4 cup white vinegar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon ground mustard |
1/3 cup worcestershire sauce |
1/3 cup soy sauce |
1 teaspoon liquid smoke |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. 2. NOTE: for a thicker sauce, tomato paste can be used for a portion of the ketchup. |
