Maple Cupcakes With Maple Frosting

this makes about 18...for some added sweetness...make a well in center of frosted cupcake..drizzle a small amount of maple syrup
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ginger
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 1/4 cups maple syrup
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 cup butter, softened
3 ounces cream cheese, softened
2/3 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup maple syrup
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup powdered sugar
Directions:
1. sift cupcake dry ingredients and set aside -
2. preheat oven to 350* -
3. beat butter and sugar together using a mixer, - set on medium speed in a large bowl till fluffy -
4. beat in eggs, syrup and vanilla -
5. stir in flour mixture by thirds - alternate with buttermilk.
6. stir in nuts - drop in paper cupcake lined muffin tins -
7. bake almost 20 minutes - .
