I found this oldie in a vintage cookbook.It sounds really easy. 8)(NOTE:I had to estimate cooking time and servings,as I havent tried this before) Ingredients:
1 cup maple sugar |
2 cups light brown sugar |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
walnuts |
Directions:
1. Cook together the sugars& water to 240,or softball stage. 2. Add the extract in. 3. Let cool until lukewarm. 4. When lukewarm,beat until mixture is creamy but firm. 5. Knead mixture until it is smooth. 6. Shape into small sized balls. 7. Press a walnut in each. |
