This is an interesting variation on traditional Asian style chicken wings. The addition of pure maple syrup lends a Canadian flair that really gives these appetizers a unique flavor. This comes from a Canadian web site. Ingredients:
1 -4 lb chicken wings |
1/3 cup teriyaki sauce |
1/2 cup light soy sauce |
1 tablespoon minced garlic |
1 tablespoon garlic powder |
1 tablespoon onion powder |
1/2 tablespoon black pepper |
1 -2 cup pure maple syrup |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350°. 2. Remove wing tips and snip the skin between the joints. 3. Place in disposable large baking pan. 4. Add the maple syrup, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, garlic, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. 5. Toss to coat. 6. Place pan on baking sheet and bake for approximately 1 hour, tossing every 15 to 20 minute The liquid will gradually evaporate the longer you cook it. 7. After 1 hour, increase the oven temperature to 425°. 8. Turn wings to coat evenly and cook on additional 45 minute. |
