This is a minor adaption of a recipe from Lora Brody's Bread Machine Baking: Perfect Every Time . It is my husband's favorite white bread. A very light loaf. For a 1.5 lb machine. Ingredients:
3 cups unbleached white flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon butter |
10 teaspoons pure maple syrup (this is 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon) |
1 cup buttermilk |
2 1/2 teaspoons yeast |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in machine according to the manufacturer's directions (for example, in my machine you put in dry ingredients first, then wet on top, and put the yeast in a special dispenser). Please note that you may need to bring the buttermilk to room temperature or warm it slightly depending on how your machine works. 2. Program for basic or white bread and press Start. |
