Maple Butter Rum Syrup

A nice tasting maple syrup without the expense of the real thing.
Ingredients:
1 c sugar
1 c packed brown sugar
1 c water
1/8 t cream of tartar
1/8 t salt
1 t maple flavoring
1 t butter flavoring
1/2 t rum flavoring
Directions:
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a medium sauce pan.
2. Bring to a boil then simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Remove from heat; stir in flavorings and let cool before bottling.
4. Don't know how long this is shelf stable. It never lasts in my house.
5. I keep it in the pantry next to the honey.
