MAPLE APPLES DATED 1922 This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Inman Estate in Mineral Wells, Texas in 1990. Ingredients:
6 tart apples |
1 cup maple syrup |
1-1/2 cups water |
Directions:
1. Wash pare and core apples but leave whole. 2. Combine water and syrup then bring to a boil. 3. Add apples and simmer until tender turning frequently to insure even cooking. 4. When apples are done remove from pan and continue to cook syrup until thickened. 5. Pour syrup over apples then serve warm or cold with cream. |
