Manhattan Clam Chowder In Slow Cooker

An easy crockpot version of Manhattan Chowder.
Ingredients:
6 strips cooked bacon, crumbled
1 cup uncooked potatoes, chopped
1 cup uncooked celery, chopped
1 cup uncooked onions, chopped
1 cup parboiled carrots, chopped
1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
1 or 1-1/2 large cans v-8 juice
salt and pepper to taste
1 teaspoon thyme
1 bay leaf
4 cans minced or chopped clams, including juice
Directions:
1. Add all ingredients to slow cooker. Stir. Cook 8 hours on low, or until vegetables are done. You can spice this up by using Spicy V-8 or by adding some hot sauce.
