Melba sauce is a classic sweet raspberry sauce and is often used as a dessert sauce for fruits, cakes, custards, and chocolate desserts. Ingredients:
1 cup fresh raspberries |
2 tablespoons water |
3 tablespoons sugar |
1 cup chopped mango |
1 1/3 cups vanilla low-fat ice cream |
Directions:
1. Combine raspberries and water in a blender; process until smooth. Strain into a small saucepan; discard seeds. Stir in sugar. Cook over medium heat 2 minutes or until sugar dissolves, stirring often. Chill, if desired. 2. Divide mango evenly among each of 4 dessert bowls; top each with ice cream and raspberry sauce. |
