A Jewish bar cookie, like biscotti. Ingredients:
3 eggs |
1 cup oil |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
3 1/2 cups flour |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips |
2 tablespoons orange juice concentrate (optional) |
nuts (optional) |
dried fruit (optional) or raisins (optional) or dried berries (optional) |
Directions:
1. Mix oil and sugar together. Add eggs, and vanilla.Optional: add OJ and mix. 2. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients, and add to wet. Mix to form a dough. (If dough is too sticky, add more flour.) 3. Add chips.Optional: add nuts or raisins or dried berries. 4. Form 2-3 loaves, and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutesat 350 degrees. 5. Slice while hot. 6. For a crispier cookie bar, return sliced pieces to oven for 10 minutes. 7. For fancier cookies, drizzle melted chocolate over bars when cool. |
