I don't usually like mixing fruit with savoury dishes but this recipe caught my eye, it's even simpler to do if you throw the rice & turmeric in the rice cooker and then stir through the remaining ingredients at the keep warm stage.. Ingredients:
8 cups water |
1/2 teaspoon turmeric |
1 cup rice |
3 shallots, chopped |
310 g canned mandarin segments, drained |
1/4 cup cashew nuts, roasted |
Directions:
1. Boil water & add turmeric & rice, boil until rice is tender. 2. Drain the rice & gently stir in remaining ingredients. |
