2 tablespoons olive oil |
1 onion, chopped |
3 garlic cloves, chopped |
2 lbs ground beef |
6 ounces tomato paste |
15 ounces tomato sauce |
14 ounces crushed tomatoes |
2 tablespoons oregano |
2 tablespoons basil |
1/3 cup red wine |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
2 tablespoons sugar |
2 (4 1/2 ounce) cans mushrooms |
3 bay leaves |
1 1/2 tablespoons salt |
Directions:
1. in a large pot heat olive oil. 2. add onions and simmer on medium heat. 3. stir in garlic. 4. add red wine and saute. 5. in a seperate frying pan cook ground beef until no longer pink. drain. 6. add ground beef to pot. 7. add rest of ingredients, bring to a boil and then reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 hours. |
